TU students protest "birth control is harmful" billboards.

Some graduate students at the University of Tulsa have organized a public celebration of birth control in response to the "birth control is harmful" billboards around town.

This Sunday (April 15) at 3:00 pm they are hosting a "birth control is awesome" picnic at Tracy Park (11th and Peoria). Their flyers say "Bring food, warm clothes, and signs showing your support. All are welcome!" Hope some of you can make it. Please invite friends - - it would be great to get a huge crowd.

Bake Sales for Body Armor was formed as a remedy to the slow response of the government in providing the best armor they could to our soldiers whose lives are on the line. While it is true that almost all soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan have the front and back plates to their protective vests, they don't all have the side and deltoid pieces...the pieces recently cited in a Pentagon study as the armor pieces that could have saved the lives of many Marines. Help us support the troops, one soldier at a time.

MoveOn.org Veto Rally graphicPresident Bush is expected to veto legislation that would create a real timeline for ending the occupation of Iraq.

When he does, the lines will be drawn — it will be him against the rest of us.

We need to loudly let him know that he can't keep ignoring our voice—and we need to let our leader...(more)s in Congress know that they need to stand up to him and keep pushing for legislation with timelines for ending the war in Iraq.

There's word from MoveOn that an Emergency Veto Rally is going to be Wednesday as it's highly likely that the veto will happen late Tuesday or Wednesday itself. The November election was a mandate that the American people want to end the war and bring the troops home safely.

Join us outside Rep. Fallin's office at 5pm on Wednesday, May 2nd. Please bring someone with you. We need a strong turnout for this event.
